1. Walk through the Natural Park of the Marjal Pego-Oliva
This route starts at the car park at the foot of the Muntanyeta Verda, where the signs lead from the road to the "Parc Natural La Marjal". Next to the source of the river "Salinar", the bulrushes reveal the spring that gives rise to this small tributary of the river "Bullent". The route follows the path that runs parallel to the river.
You cross a wooden bridge over one of the canals that carries water to the rice fields, until we reach some wooden footbridges.
At this point you have the option of turning off following the footbridges that border a "lluent", a small lagoon that is more than 50 cm deep and is not occupied by reeds or bulrushes.
After the walk along the footbridges, you reach the point where the Salinar joins the Bullent, next to some pumps and a sluice gate that regulate the flow and the agricultural use of the water.
Going to the left you reach the "Calapatar", a beautiful area next to the river Bullent, where you can observe some of the species of aquatic flora, which is evidence of the good water conditions at this point.
To return to the starting point, you can follow the dirt track that skirts the hill of the Muntanyeta Verda, up to the parking area. When you go up to the viewpoint at the top of this hill you will have a perspective of the whole Natural Park of the Marjal de Pego-Oliva.
At this point you can observe the landscape in which the authentic Marjal blooms. The water has been channelled to facilitate the rice cultivation. Traditional uses such as agriculture, fishing and hunting coexist with reserve areas in which the reed beds become the refuge and home of a great diversity of insect species such as dragonflies, reptiles such as the galapagos, mammals such as the wild boar and a multitude of water birds.
2. Trip to Pego
On this trip, you will be able to visit its architectural ensemble, taste its fabolous gastronomy and enjoy its events. There will be a tour on the most outstanding monuments and places in the town. You can consult the bars and restaurants offering dishes based on rice, which constitutes the main ingredient of the typical gastronomy.
3. Walk through l'Atzúbia
Afterwards, you can appreciate the corners of L'Atzúbia, explore its streets and edges and discover its historical and landscape heritage. Highlights include the Church of San Vicente Ferrer, the Moorish fountains and the peculiar urban layout of the town.
4. Trip to the Castle of Forna
Finally it is strongly recommended to visit the Castle of Forna and admire its historically significant fortress.

In Pego you can choose among multiple bars and restaurants where you can savour the gastrocultural week of "l'Arrós Bomba". Thirteen bars in the locality are participating and each of them offers a wide variety of recipes whose main ingredient is the Bomba rice.
This week is in the middle of the sowing period of this variety in the Marjal, so it is very interesting to make a visit to the Marjal beforehand to see the wetland during the cultivation work.
However, the cuisine in Pego always takes centre stage, where you can taste the flavour of tradition.
