Indeed, it is no coincidence that many professional cycling teams choose it for their practise.
In addition to the large number of identified and waymarked cycling routes, there is also an important variety of trips and activities that can be carried out when passing through the different towns and attractions in these routes.
This is a magnificient opportunity to recognize the natural and scenic resources available in La Marina Alta, usually unknown by visitors. In this way, you will learn on the importance of their conservation, as well as the historical value of its towns through cycle tourism.
As an especialized technical resource, La Marina Alta has an MTB Centre located in the town of Parcent (called BTT Vall de Pop). This establishment is committed to offer high-quality information and support to those who decide to take in this sport either at a professional or entertainment level in the region.
There are certainly routes tailored to the users' needs. Thus, there are different itineraries for those wanting to escape, outdoor adventurers, families with toddlers, or simply sport lovers who choose this region to work-out and achieve their aims.

Below you can find the itinerary of the intermediate/high-level route Ride La Marina Alta, addressed at cyclists looking for something completely unique or new areas for their training.
This is a route for road cycling, which lasts of at least five hours if done non-stop. This complex itinerary is properly waymarked and tested both by the BTT Vall de Pop and the Patronato Provincial de Turismo de la Costa Blanca, which guarantees its security.
Below you will find the details of the itinerary, as well as the places, activities and tourist options that can be carried out along the route.
Road Cycling
Route: Dénia-Ondara-Benidoleig-Orba-Murla-Benigembla-La Vall d’Ebo-Sagra-Beniarbeig-Ondara-Dénia.

On this route you will pass through a total of 9 towns in La Marina Alta region, where you will be able to observe the richness and variety of the landscape, culture, social and tourist attractions that our region offers.
You will start in Dénia, capital of La Marina Alta. Either before leaving or at the end of the tour, you can visit local emblematic places, such as the Castle and its famous tunnel or the Toy Museum. You may also stroll along the Marqués de Campo street or the promenade, or just relax on its more than 20 km of beaches.
The first stop will be in Ondara. Here you can visit outstanding places such as the Bullring - inaugurated in 1901 and rebuilt after the civil war in 1957, or the Dream Botanical Garden with exotic plants from all over the world, caves, wine cellar and exotic fruit tasting.
You will continue until reaching the town of Benidoleig, where you can make a stop at the Cueva de las Calaveras (Cave of the Skulls), a cave that is more than 900 metres long with archaeological remains dating from the Neanderthal period to Homo Sapiens.
The next stops take us to Orba, Murla and Benigembla, three interior towns in the region, where you can visit the Museu del Fang d'Orba (Clay Museum) and walk through the quiet streets of Murla and Benigembla.
After the hardest climb of the route, you will arrive at La Vall d'Ebo, where you will have the opportunity to explore the stunning natural scenery that will captivate you with its valleys, mountains and native flora.
Now that you have finished the first half of the route and are returning to the starting point, you will pass through the locality of Sagra, member of the Rectoría and located in the intermediate zone of the region.
Before passing through Ondara again and arriving in Dénia (the end of the route), we will cross Beniarbeig with its 300 hectares of orange trees and 150 hectares of olive, almond and carob trees.
