The local festivities are a reason for celebration, joy and outdoors enjoyment together with your family, friends and neighbours. These are rooted costums taking place periodically in each town in La Marina Alta and reflecting the way of living among the locals in the region.
Throughout the year several festivities are held and sometimes influenced by the Catholic religion, the age or the pagan customs. Whatever the motive is, they constitute a reflection of a united and linked population.
After a long year and thanks to the great effort and illusion from the locals, the holidays in the towns begin. Although each celebration is unique, they all share a common joyful and union spirit.
The street parties, pilgrimages to chapels and Christmas markets are always a great motive to attract the population and show the most appealing feature of the locality.
These events and activities mean an attraction for the curious tourists, who are excited to share a section of the most rooted local costums and end up being part of this gorgeous culture.
