The municipality of La Vall de Laguar comprises the villages of Benimaurell, Campell and Fleix, where the Town Hall is located. None of them has more than 400 inhabitants and its main economic activity is agriculture, especially the cultivation of cherries (which has a designation of origin), olives, figs and almonds. The Vall de Laguar was a stronghold of the Moorish uprising that took place in 1609 against the decree of their expulsion. The three villages are located at the confluence of the Sierra del Cavall Verd or Peñón, the Sierra de la Carrasca and the Sierra del MediodÃa. From the village of Orba, where the valley is accessed, you first come across Campell, then Fleix and finally Benimaurell, where the road ends.
