Llíber is a village with 835 inhabitants belonging to the sub-region known as Vall de Pop. It is traditionally linked to its neighbour municipality Xaló, and from which it became independent.
Its economy is based on dry farming, especially grapes, almonds and carobs. In Llíber you can still see the vestiges of the once flourishing raceme-raisin industry: the riuraus.
Llíber also produces commercial wines such as Plan de Llíber, Castell d'Azuela, Marnes produced and bottled by the cooperative Virgen Pobre de Xaló, (Bodegas Xaló).
Llíber's speciality is the production of "raim Moscatell" from Alexandria or Rome, in which sultanas, fruit, wines and Mistela are produced. The gastronomy is also worth mentioning.
The village is next to the course of the river Gorgos in a fertile place, whose ends form the northern part of the Sierra de Bernia and the Sierra del Castell de la Solana. At the top of the mountain range you will discover the Castell d'Azuela, as a good little castle from its towers, which is already in ruins.
