Murla is a town with 500 inhabitants (2018), has an area of almost 6 square kilometres and is situated 283 metres above sea level. Within the Marina Alta region, it belongs to the sub-region of La Vall del Pop. It borders AlcalalÃ, Benigembla, Orba, Parcent and La Vall de Laguar.
It is a mountanious territory with the Seguili, the Castelet and the Peñasco de Laguar as the most noticeable heights. The most outstanding barranco is the Cotes, as well as the Xaló river basin.
