Orba is an ideal village to set your residence and see your children grow up, but also to enjoy it from time to time. Through the years you can find different cultural, sport and educative activities for all the family members and there are many routes designed to enjoy the enviornment.
Orba is between the mountain and sea, locating only 15 minutes far from the beach and 154 meters of height, it has an area of 17,73 km2 and a population of 2,111 inhabitants in 2018. It occupies the geographical centrality in the Marina Alta, situating along with the Vall de Laguart and El Valle del Pop.
It has always been known for being the town of clay. In the Museo del Barro (Clay Museum), located in La Casa de la Señoría, you can visit the museum collection of the terrissera of Orba and Orbeta, recognised by the Regional Department of Education, Research, Culture and Sport in 2018. We are a town with a very rich cultural and architectural heritage (Castellet of Orba, fountains, riuraus...).
The traditional Orba gastronomy includes a wide variety of sea, mountain and orchard products, taking part of the Mediterranean diet, and where traditional desserts, pastissets de almendra (almond cupcakes), coca de naranja (orange savoury cake) and coca cristina (almond sweet cake).
Orba is a pioneer villlage in waste management. Glass, paper and cardboard, packaging, organic matter and other waste is now collected on the doorstep. The organic fraction receives a differentiated treatment in the disposal plant in order to make high quality compost.
