Pedreguer is a Valencian municipality in the Marina Alta region, situated at an altitude of 85 m above sea level. It currently has 7,490 inhabitants, distributed over a municipal area of 29.58 km2 , which means a population density of 253.19 inhabitants per km2.
It is a historically agricultural village in the north of the province, built at the foot of the "Muntanya Gran" (big mountain), with abundant irrigated land where vegetables, citrus fruits and vines are harvested, from which grapes the traditional and delicious sultanas are obtained. Its industrial activity specialising in the manufacture of bags, hats and leather goods is also remarkable.
An original feature of this town is the brightly painted façades of the houses, the latticed balconies, the stone lintels and the carved wooden doors. There are interesting modernist elements. In the Plaza Mayor, where the Parish Church of Santa Cruz is located, there is a porticoed structure called the "Porxes" where the market takes place.
It is worth visiting the Chapel of San Blas, "la Capelleta", on the slopes of the mountain, which can be reached by a cypress tree way of the cross. You should also go up to the "Mirabarques", the viewpoint from where you can see the best views of the area, including the Mediterranean and a picturesque sea of swimming pools.
